1 | c | Margarine or butter, softene |
1/2 | c | Powdered sugar |
1 | ts | Vanilla |
2 1/4 | c | All-purpose flour* |
1/2 | c | Finely chopped nuts |
12 | Vanilla caramel candies, cut into Fourths or 1 Bar sweet coo | |
1/4 | ts | Salt |
Powdered sugar |
*do not use self-rising flour in This recipe.
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix margarine, 1/2 cup powdered sugar and the vanilla. Stir in flour, nuts and salt until dough holds together. Shape dough around pieces of caramels or chocolate to form 1-inch balls. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until set but not brown.Roll in powdered sugar while warm; cool. Roll in powdered sugar again. ABOUT 4 DOZEN COOKIES; 85 CALORIES PER COOKIE.
