| 1 | c | Sugar |
| 1/4 | c | Shortening |
| 1 | c | Water |
| 1 1/2 | c | Flour |
| 1 | ts | Cinnamon |
| 1/2 | ts | Cloves |
| 1/2 | ts | Salt |
| 1/2 | ts | Soda |
| UK MEASUREMENTS | ||
| 225 | g | Sultanas |
| 200 | g | Sugar |
| 250 | ml | Water |
| 210 | g | Flour |
| 5 | g | Cinnamon |
| 3 | g | Cloves |
| 3 | g | Salt |
| 3 | g | Soda |
Boil together raisins, sugar, shortening, and water. Allow to cool. When cool, add remaining ingredients. Bake in moderate oven about 20 minutes.
