2 | tb | Sugar |
1 | Egg | |
1 | c | Milk |
1/2 | c | Corn-meal |
3/4 | c | Prepared bran |
1 | c | Flour |
1 | ts | Salt |
3 | ts | Baking powder |
Cream shortening. Add sugar and mix well. Add well-beaten egg, milk, bran, and corn-meal. Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking powder and salt. Add to first mixture, stirring only until well blended. Pour into well-oiled pans. Bake in moderate oven (400ø F) 20 minutes. 12 bran sticks. Betty Parkinson, Michigan Center, MI.
