Title: Brown Bear Bars

Yield: 24 Servings

C&H BROWN SUGAR
1cButter; softened
1cSugar, brown; dark
1 Egg yolks
2tsExtract, vanilla
2cFlour
1/4tsSalt
6ozChocolate chips; semi-sweet
1cNuts, chopped; toasted

Preheat oven to 350 F. With electric mixer, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yolk and vanilla; beat until smooth. Add flour and salt; mix until blended. Pat dough into 9x13" baking pan. Bake 15-20 minutes, until lightly browned on top. (Bar will be soft to touch.) Remove pan to cooling rack. Immediately sprinkle top with chocolate chips and let rest 5 minutes. Spread melted chips in an even layer. Sprinkle with chopped nuts, let sit for another 5 minutes, and cut into bars while still warm.
