FROM THE KITCHEN OF: Marge Hartford

INGREIDENTS: 3 cups Sponge (save 1 cup) I: 2 tablespoons Butter or Margarine (melted) I: 4 cups Flour I: 2 tablespoons Sugar I: 1 teaspoon Salt I: 1/4 Yeast

INSTRUCTIONS: To sponge add one pkg and mix as regular dough, add butter, flour, sugar, and salt. Let rise until doubled in size. Roll dough out on lightly floured board. Mix soda with a bit of warm water and pour over dough. Work the soda-water into the dough with fingertips. Knead lightly and form into long loaves. Place on baking sheets to rise. Place in 400 degree oven with pan of boiling water for fifteen minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees. Brush with cold water occasionally.
