1/2cButter Or Margarine;Softened
1cBrown Sugar; Packed
3 Eggs; Large
1tsLemon Peel, Grated
1tsVanilla
1cFlour; Unbleached
1tsBaking Powder
1/2tsSalt
1 1/2cFigs; Dried, Finely Chopped

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, peel and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Stir in figs. Pour into greased 13 X 9 X 2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes. Cool; cut into bars. Makes 32 bars.
