Title: Double-Boiler Bread Pudding

1 | c | Brown sugar, packed |
3 | sl | White bread, buttered cut into 3/4-in. cubes |
2 | Eggs | |
2 | c | Milk |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
1 | ts | Vanilla |
Place brown sugar in top of double boiler. Place bread cubes on top of sugar. Beat eggs with milk, salt and vanilla and pour over bread. Place over simmering water, cover and cook 1 1/2 hours. Do not stir. Brown sugar forms sauce in bottom of pan. Turn pudding into serving dish.
