Categories: Cobbler
Yield: 1 Dessert
4 | c | Blackberries (unsweetened) |
3/4 | c | Sugar |
3 | tb | Butter |
1/2 | c | Milk |
1 | c | Flour |
1 | ts | Baking powder |
1/4 | ts | Salt |
Put raw fruit in 8X8-inch pan. Cream 3/4 cup sugar and butter. Add 1/2 cup milk alternately with flour, baking powder and salt, which have been sifted together. Pour over fruit.
Combine 1 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 1/4 teaspoon salt and pour over batter and fruit. Pour 3/4 cup boiling water over all and bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes, or until fruit is done.
Frozen fruit may be used. If the fruit is sweetened, cut sugar to 1/2 cup, instead of 1 cup. If fruit is extra juicy, cut boiling water from 3/4 cup to 1/2 cup.
You can use any kind of fruit for this recipe except strawberries or apples.
