1/4cAll-purpose flour
1tsSalt
1/2tsPepper or to taste
2lbBeef round steak, 1 thick
2tbVegetable oil
1cn(8 oz) tomatoes
1/2cMinced onions
1/4cMinced green pepper

Stir together flour, 1/2 tea. salt, and 1/4 tea. pepper. Sprinkle one side of meat with half the flour mixture; pound in. Turn meat and pound in remaining flour mixture. Cut meat into 6 servings. Melt shortening in large skillet; brown meat over medium heat, about 15 minutes. Cover tightly; simmer 1 hour. Add small amount of water if necessary. Mix remaining ingredients; pour over meat. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until tender.
