Title: Cookie Paint (Egg Paint)
Categories: Cookie Frosting
Yield: 1 Servings
1 | Egg yolk | |
1 | ts | Water |
Food coloring |
In a small bowl beat together egg yolk and water. Divide mixture among 3 or 4 small bowls. Add 2 or 3 drops of a different food coloring to each bowl and mix well. Using a tiny brush, paint desired design on unbaked cutout cookies. Clean brush in water between colors. Bake as the cookie recipe directs.
To store the colored yolk mixture, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
If the colored yolk mixture thickens while standing, stir in water, a drop at a time.
Prefer not to paint free-hand? To make an easy pattern for cocoa painting, use a holiday cookie cutter that's smaller than the glazed cookies. Press the cutter lightly into the dried glaze to make an indentation. Then paint over this line.
