Apples | ||
Sugar | ||
Water | ||
Lemon peel; or orange peel | ||
Ginger; to taste | ||
Cinnamon; to taste | ||
Nutmeg; to taste |
Wash, pare, halve and core apples. Cook until tender in sirup made of equal parts sugar and water. Add lemon peel (or orange peel), ginger, cinnamon and/or nutmeg, all to taste. Pack hot into hot, sterilized canning jars. Cover with boiling sirup and seal at once.
