Title: Old El Paso Layered Bean Dip

2 | cn | (16 oz.) refried beans |
1 | lb | Ground beef |
1 | Envelope taco seasoning mix | |
3/4 | c | Water |
1 1/2 | c | Shredded lettuce |
1 1/2 | c | Shredded cheddar or monterey jack cheese |
1 | Jar 16 oz. thick'n chunky picante or salsa | |
Toppers: | ||
Pickled jalapeno slices | ||
Chopped green chilies | ||
Sour cream | ||
Guacamole | ||
Ripe olive slices |
Spread refried beans on bottom of 14 inch serving platter.
Brown ground beef in skillet on mediumheat; drain. Add taco seasoning mix and water. Cook and stir on medium heat 10 to 15 minutes; spread over refried beans.
Arrange layers of lettuce, cheese and salsa or picante on top of beef. Garnish with any toppers desired. Serve with tortila chips.
