Title: House Park Beans

1 | lb | Pinto beans |
1 | ga | Water |
3 | tb | Chili powder |
1 | ts | Garlic powder |
2 | ts | Salt |
4 | tb | Sugar |
Wash beans, discarding any bad or half beans. Fill large pot with beans and water. Add chili and garlic powders. Bring to a rolling boil and continue to boil for 2 1/2 hours, add 1-2 quarts additional boiling water as needed to keep beans from sticking to bottom of pan. Beans should be tender to the touch. Beans should be tender to the touch. Reduce heat to low and add salt and sugar. Simmer 15 minutes more, stirring ocasionally. Makes 8-10 servings.
