6 | lg | Potatoes; shredded |
1/2 | lb | Bacon; diced small |
2 | tb | Butter |
1 | md | Onion; chopped .potatoes, b |
Salt; pepper and nutmeg | ||

Place onions and potatoes in a colander to dry and then squeeze it in batches between your hands to get out much as the liquid as possible Mix potatoes ans onions with bacon and seasonings. Heat butter in a pan until foamy and swirl to cove pan completely. Lay potato mixture into pan and press to form a cake. Turn down heat and cook for 1/2 an hour covered shaking pan often. Until potatoes are golden brown in the bottom. Spread the rest of the butter on top and bake another 1/2 hour. Turn to broil and cook until golden brown on top.
