Title: Marak Peyrot (Cold Fruit Soup)

1 | md | Cantaloupe |
6 | c | Fresh strawberries |
1 | lb | Seedless grapes |
4 | md | Apples |
1/2 | c | Fresh lemon juice; divided |
1/2 | c | Sugar |
6 | c | Water |
2 | c | Fresh orange juice |
1. Peel and seed cantaloupe. Chop coarsely. Hull strawberries and cut in
half. Stem grapes. Peel, core, and chop apples.
2. In large saucepan, combine fruit, 1/4 cups lemon juice, sugar, and
water. Bring to boil, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes. Puree fruit in
blender or food processor and return to soup. Stir in remaining 1/4 cup
lemon juice and orange juice. Chill thoroughly. Variation: stir in 1/2 cup
chilled semi-dry white wine before serving.
