Title: Sweet & Sour Meatballs

1lbGround beef
1/4cDry bread or cracker crumbs
1tsInstant minced onion -OR-
2tbFinely chopped onion
1/2tsSalt
1/8tsPepper
1tbOil or shortening
1/4cSugar
2tbCornstarch
2tbSoy sauce
2tbVinegar
1/2cWater
1/2cReserved pineapple syrup
2 Green peppers, cut into 1" pieces
13 1/4ozCan pineapple tidbits or chunks, drained, reserving syrup

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, salt and pepper. Mix well. Shape into 1" balls. Brown in hot oil in a fry pan. Drain off drippings. Remove meatballs. Combine sugar and cornstarch in fry pan. Stir in soy sauce, vinegar, water and pineapple syrup. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Add green pepper, pineapple and meatballs. Cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes. Serve over rice.
