Title: Aunt Lucille Wanderer's Tamale Pie

TAMALE PIE | ||
1 | c | Cornmeal |
1 | c | Milk |
1 | 16 oz can whole kernal corn | |
1 | lb | Lean ground beef |
1 | 16 oz can of diced tomatoes | |
2 | tb | Chili powder |
1 | ts | Salt |
1/2 | c | Melted butter or margarine |
2 | Eggs--beaten | |
SAUCE | ||
1 | cn | Tomato soup |
1/4 | c | Butter or margarine--melted |
1 | tb | Chili powder |
Tamale Pie Stir ingredients together in the order given above. Pour into large casserole dish or 9" x 13" pan. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hour or until solid, dry and golden brown.
Sauce Blend ingredients together with a wire wisk.
Serve with sauce over top of individual servings.
OPTIONS Can be cooked in a microwave on high for approximately 20 minutes. One half of mixed Tamale Pie ingredients may be frozen for baking at a later date.
