1/4cButter or shortening
1/4cApplesauce
2tbSweet*10 liquid
2tbVanilla
2 Eggs, beaten, or substitute
1cFlour
1/2tsSalt
1 1/2tsBaking soda
1/4cNuts; chopped

Recipe by: Alice Broaddus < a.broaddus@genie.geis.com > Sift cocoa, flour, salt and baking soda and mix well. Add vanilla, sweetener, eggs. Stir until well-blended and add the dry ingredients. Mix until well-blended, stir in chopped nuts, pour into a greased 8" square pan. Level batter smoothly. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Cut into 16 squares.
