Title: Sour Cream Prune Cake

1 1/2cBrown sugar
1cThick sour cream
1/4cCold water
1/2tsBaking soda
1/2tsSalt
1 1/2cCake flour
2 Eggs, well beaten
1cUncooked pitted prunes
2tsBaking powder
1tsCinnamon
1tsCloves
1tsNutmeg

Combine eggs, sugar, cream, and water. Mix well. Sift flour, measure 1 1/4 cups, and sift with baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices. Add to first mixture. Beat thoroughly. Add prunes which have been cut in small pieces and dredged in 1/4 cup of the sifted flour. Pour into well-oiled loaf pan. Bake in moderate oven (375 F) about 45 minutes. The Household Searchlight
