Title: Tomato Vegetable Soup

1 | md | Onion, chopped |
2 | tb | Butter or margarine |
4 | c | Water |
2 1/2 | lb | Tomatoes, peeled and chopped |
2 | md | Carrots, diced |
1 | Celery rib, finely chopped | |
3 | Chicken bouillon cubes | |
1 | ts | Sugar |
1 | ts | Dried basil |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
1/2 | ts | Dried thyme |
1/8 | ts | Ground mace |
1/8 | ts | Pepper |
In a large saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 40 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
