1 1/2 | lb | Sweet Italian sausage |
1 | c | Onion; chopped |
1 | cl | Garlic; minced |
1/4 | c | Parsley; minced |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
1/2 | c | Parmesan cheese; grated |
1 | lg | Green pepper; coarsely chopd |
1 | c | Light cream |
1 | ts | Dried marjoram; crushed |
1/8 | ts | Pepper |
1 | lb | Rotelli pasta; al dente |
Italian name - Salsa di Caserta
Remove sausage from casing, crumble into skillet. Stir and cook until sausage is no longer pink. Add onion and garlic, saute until onion is soft and light colored. Drain excess fat. Stir in cream, parsley, cheese, marjoram, salt, and pepper. Bring to a low simmer (do not boil), reduce heat, cook and stir over med. heat 6 to 8 mins. until thickened. Serve over pasta.
