HOFFMAN'S CROCKERY FAVORITES
1lbLean ground beef
1/2lbItalian sausage; casing re- moved
1 Onion; chopped
1clGarlic; crushed
1smCarrot; grated
2 Celery stalks; chopped
1smRed or green bell pepper; seeded, chopped
1cn28-oz. diced peeled tomatoes
2cn6-oz. tomato paste
1tsSugar
1tbFresh oregano; chopped
1tbFresh basil; chopped
1tsSalt
1/4tsPepper
1/2cDry red wine
  Pasta; cooked
  Parmesan cheese; grated, opt

Turn slowcooker on HIGH. Add ground beef and sausage. Cook and stir until meat is broken up into small pieces. Turn pot on LOW. Add remaining ingredients, except pasta and cheese. Cover and cook on LOW 8 to 9 hrs. Spoon over your favorite pasta and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
