Title: Fat Pretzels

Yield: 2 Dozen
2 1/4 | ts | Yeast, active dry |
1 1/2 | c | Water, warm |
1 | ts | Salt |
1 | tb | Sugar |
4 | c | Flour |
1 | lg | Egg, beaten |
Salt, coarse |
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add salt and sugar. Blend in the flour. Knead dough until smooth. Cut into small pieces and roll into ropes. Twist ropes into pretzel shapes and place on foil-lined cookie sheets. Brush with egg and sprinkle with salt. Bake until brown.
Temperature: 425~ Time: 12 to 15 minutes
HINT: Can also be made into thin 3- to 4-inch sticks to be used with dips or as breadsticks.
