Title: Maple Bread Pudding
Categories: Dessert
Yield: 8 Servings
3 | ts | Butter, softened |
6 | oz | Maple sugar, grated |
6 | sl | Bread, crust removed |
4 | | Eggs |
1 | c | Light cream |
1 | c | Milk |
2 | ts | Vanilla |
Spray a 1-quart covered baking dish with Pam or use 1 teaspoon butter.
Press maple sugar firmly against sides and bottom of dish to form a
1/8-inch thick shell. Spread bread slices with remaining butter and cut
them into bite-size pieces, dropping them into shell. Beat eggs until
frothy and slowly beat in cream, milk and vanilla. Pour this mixture over
bread. Set dish in pan of warm water and bake in 350 degree oven, covered,
about 1 hour. Note: If possible, use ABM bread in this recipe, as the
result is much more flavorful!
