2 | ts | Baking powder |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
3/4 | c | Sugar |
1/4 | c | Soft shortening |
1 | Egg | |
3/4 | c | Milk |
1 | ts | Vanilla |
Golden citrus sauce | ||
2 | tb | Cornstarch |
1/4 | c | Sugar |
1 | c | Orange juice |
2 | tb | Lemon juice |
1 | c | Crushed pineapple with juice |
3 | Large oranges diced |
Sift all dry ingrdeints into a bowl. Add and beat in remainder of ingredients until batter is smooth. Pour into a 9 inch greased square pan. Bake 375 for 25 to 30 minutes or done.Cut in squares when warm. top with hot sauce.For sauce: combine cornstarch and sugar. Add juices and heat low and cook 5 minutes until thickened. stir in fruits.Sauce make about 3 cups.
