Title: Perfection Pudding

6 | Egg whites beaten stiff | |
1 | c | Sugar |
1 | ts | Vinegar |
1 | ts | Vanilla |
1 | ts | Cream of tartar |
Custard sauce: | ||
2 1/2 | c | Milk |
1/2 | c | Sugar |
Pinch salt | ||
3 1/2 | tb | Flour |
1 1/2 | tb | Cornstarch |
1/2 | c | Milk |
6 | Yolks beaten | |
1 | ts | Vanilla |
Beat first 5 ingredients together gradually. Put in an ungreased tube pan and set pan in hot water. Bake 40 minutes at 350. When done, turn upside down on large dish or platter and leave until meringue drops out. When cold, cover with fresh berries and custard sauce.For custard: place milk, sugar and salt in top of double boiler and heat. Mix flour and cornstarch with 1/2 cup milk and cook until thickened and stir into first mixture. Add beaten egg yolks carefully. cook slowly 15 minutes longer, stirring constantly. remove from heat and add vanilla. Cool and serve with the pudding.You can garnish pudding on platter by piping whipped cream around pudding and garnish with some marachino cherries for color.
