Title: Caramel Bread Pudding

Yield: 6 Servings
6 | sl | Day-old bread, cut 1/2 inch cubes |
1 | c | Hot water |
1 | c | Packed brown sugar |
4 | Eggs, lightly beaten | |
2 | c | Warm milk |
1/2 | c | Sugar |
1/2 | ts | Vanilla extract |
1/2 | ts | Ground cinnamon |
1/8 | ts | Salt |
Place bread in a greased 2-qt baking dish. Combine water and brown sugar; pour over bread. Combine remaining ingredients; pour over bread. Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Serve warm or cold. Recipe by: Tammie Peebles (ToH Oct/Nov 95)
