Title: Vegetable Meat Loaf

Yield: 6 Servings

1 1/2 Pounds ground beef, pork and Turkey
1cMilk
1tsChopped fresh or 1/4 ts Dried sage leaves
1tsSalt
1/2tsDry mustard
1/4tsPepper
3slBread, torn to small pieces*
1 Egg
1 Cl Garlic, finely chopped, or 1/8 ts Garlic powder
1smOnion, chopped (1/4 cup)
1tbWorcestershire sauce
1smGreen bell pepper, chopped
1mdCarrot, coarsely shredded
1cn(4 ounces) mushroom stems and Pieces, drained and chopped
1 Tomato, thinly sliced
3slProcessed american cheese

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients except tomato and cheese. Spread mixture in loaf pan, 9 X 5 X 3 inches. Bake 1 to 1-1/4 hours or until done; drain. Arrange tomato down center of meat loaf. Top with cheese slices cut diagonally in half. Bake 3 to 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Remove from pan. 6 SERVINGS; 375 CALORIES PER SERVING.*1/2 cup dry bread crumbs or 3/4 cup quick-cooking oats can be substituted for the 3 slices bread.
