1 | c | Butter |
1/2 | c | Brown sugar, packed |
1/2 | c | Granulated sugar |
1 | | Egg yolk |
1 1/2 | ts | Vanilla |
1 3/4 | c | Flour |
1 | c | Diced almonds roasted |
1 | c | Semi-sweet chocolate pieces |
Cream together butter and both sugars. Beat in egg yolk and vanilla. Stir
in flour and half of the almonds. Spread in unoiled 9 x 13-inch baking
pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Sprinkle hot crust with
chocolate. Sprinkle with remaining almonds, pressing them lightly into
melting chocolate. Cut into squares while still warm, but don't remove
from pan until cool. Makes 24 squares
