1 | c | APRICOT, DICED |
2 | c | FLOUR, ALL-PURPOSE |
2 1/2 | ts | BAKING POWDER |
1/4 | ts | BAKING SODA |
1/2 | ts | SALT |
1/2 | ts | ALLSPICE |
| | MILK |
1/2 | c | SHORTENING |
3/4 | c | SUGAR |
| | EGG, BEATEN |
1 | c | APPLE, CHOPPED |
3/4 | c | WALNUTS, CHOPPED |
Pour boiling water over dried apricots and let stand. Sift flour, baking
powder, soda, salt and allspice. Add milk to apricot juice to make 2/3 c.
Beat the shortening adding sugar gradually. Beat in the egg. Add dry
ingredients alternately with the liquid. Fold in the fruit and walnuts.
Spoon into a greased and floured pan, 9x5. Bake in 350F oven for 1 hour.
Cool on rack.
