Title: Old Fashioned Bread Stuffing

1 | c | Finely chopped celery |
1/2 | c | Chopped onion |
1 | ts | Poultry seasoning or dried sage leaves |
1/2 | c | Margarine |
8 | c | Dry bread cubes |
3/4 | c | Chicken broth or water |
1/4 | ts | Pepper |
1/8 | ts | Salt |
In a small sauce pan cook celery and onion, in butter, until tender but not
brown. Remove from heat. Stir in poultry seasoning, 1/4 ts pepper, and 1/8
ts salt. Place dry bread cubes in a bowl. Add onion and celery mix. Pour in
enough broth or water to moisten, tossing lightly. Use to stuff one 8 to 10
lb. turkey. Makes 8 to 10 servings. MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS: Micro cook onions
and celery in a one quart cassrole dish with butter for 6 to 8 minutes on
high. Continue as above. HERB AND ONION STUFFING: Prepare as above but add
1 cup more onions and leave out the celery. Use sage and add 1/4 cup
snipped parsley, 1/2 ts dried thyme, and 1/4 ts marjoram.
