2 | lb | Ground Beef |
1 | | Med. Onion, Chopped |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
1/2 | ts | Oregano |
12 | oz | Tomatoes |
1 | | Clove Garlic, Chopped |
1/2 | ts | Pepper |
3 1/2 | oz | (1/2 7oz can) Green Chilies |
TOPPING |
1 | c | Grated Mild Cheese |
1/2 | c | Unbleached Flour |
| | Dash Salt |
2 | ts | Sugar (Optional) |
| | Other Half Green Chilies |
1/2 | c | Cornmeal |
1 | ts | Baking powder |
2 | tb | Oil |
1/2 | c | Milk |
Brown meat in skillet. Add remainging ingredients and simmer 20 minutes.
Pour into a 4-qt casserole. Top with cheese. Mix rest of ingredients
together and pour over the top of meat and cheese. Bake at 375 degrees F.
for 30 minutes (or until topping is done).
