1/4 | lb | Hamburger |
4 | tb | Chopped onion |
2 | tb | Chopped celery |
2 | tb | Chopped green pepper |
1/8 | ts | Tyme |
1/4 | ts | Sugar |
1/2 | ts | Worchestershire sauce |
1 1/2 | tb | Chile sauce |
2/3 | c | Canned tomatoes |
1/2 | c | Water |
1/4 | c | Pearl barley, salt&pepper |
Saute beef, onion, celery and green pepper. Pour off fat and stir in rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil then turn down heat and simmer until barley is cooked.
