1 | c | Yellow cornmeal |
1 | c | All purpose flour |
1 | tb | Sugar |
1 | tb | Plus 1 ts baking powder |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
1 1/2 | c | Milk |
1/4 | c | Shortening, melted |
1 | | Egg, beaten |
10 | | Slice bacon, cooked/crumbled |
| | Creole Celery Sauce |
Combine first six ingredients, add milk, shortening, and egg mixing well.
Stir in bacon. Pour batter into a well greased 8 inch square pan. Bake at
425 degrees for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cut into squares, and
serve with Creole Celery Sauce.
