Title: Maple Syrup Barbecue Sauce

1cMaple syrup
1cKetchup
1cOnion; finely chopped
1/4cFirmly packed brown sugar
1/4cApple cider vinegar
1/4cLemon juice
1/4cWater
2tbOlive oil
2tbWorcestershire sauce
2tsGarlic; finely chopped
2tsLemon rind; grated
1tsSalt
1/4tsHot sauce

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes. Cool. Pour mixture into container of a blender; process until smooth. Remove 1 cup sauce, and brush over [the article is about chicken] the last 30 minutes of cooking time. Serve chicken with remaining sauce. Refrigerate sauce up to 1 month. Yield: 3-1/2 cups
