Title: Sal's Lemon-Nut Bread

1/2 | c | Butter; softened |
1 | c | Sugar |
2 | | Eggs; slightly beaten |
1 1/4 | c | All-purpose flour |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
1 | ts | Baking powder |
1/2 | c | Milk |
1/2 | c | Walnuts; chopped |
1 | tb | Lemon rind; grated |
1/4 | c | Sugar |
| | Juice of 1 lemon |
Recipe by: from "Voila!" (Jr League of Lafayette, LA) Cream butter and
sugar well in mixing bowl. Add eggs. Mix flour, salt and baking powder
and add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Add nuts and lemon zest
and mix well. Pour into a greased 5 1/4x9 1/4x3-inch loaf pan. Bake in
preheated 350F oven 1 hour or until done. Mix sugar and lemon juice in
small pan over low heat to dissolve sugar. Pour sauce over hot bread in
pan. Cool in pan. Remove and slice.
