Title: Overnight French Toast Deluxe

8 | sl | Bread, French; (3/4" thick) |
4 | Eggs | |
1 | c | Milk |
1 | tb | Sugar |
1/8 | ts | Salt |
2 | tb | Orange juice |
1/2 | ts | Vanilla extract |
1/4 | c | Butter (or marg.); divided |
Sugar, powdered |
Place bread in a 13x9x2" baking dish. Combine eggs, milk, sugar, salt, orange juice, and vanilla; beat well. Pour mixture over bread slices; turn slices over to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet; remove 4 slices bread from dish, and saute in butter 4 minutes on each side or until browned. Repeat procedure with remaining butter and bread slices. Sprinkle toast with powdered sugar; serve immediately.
