Title: Burnt Sugar

Burnt sugar may be kept on hand and used for many purposes. Burnt sugar icing is delicious, as well as burn sugar syrup for hot cakes, etc. To make cake icing, add 1/2 c. of milk to one cup burnt sugar and stir and beat until thick. Add enough water to thick burnt sugar syrup to pour over pancakes or hot biscuits.

Burnt sugar: take 1 teacup granulated sugar and place in small sauce pan or small skillet. Let it bubble brown as it melts. Add 1/3 c. water and stir until all the lumps are dissolved.
