Title: Green Tomatoe Pie Filling

Yield: 7 Quarts

4qtChopped green tomatoes
3qtPeeled, chopped tart apples
1lbDark seedless raisins
1lbWhite raisins
1/4cCitron, lemon, or orange
  Peel.
2cWater
2 1/2cBrown sugar
2 1/2cWhite sugar
1/2cWhite vinegar, 5%
1cBottled lemon juice
2tbGround cinnamon
1tsGround nutmeg
1tsGround cloves

Combine all ingredients in a large suacepan. Cook slowly, stirring often, until tender and slightly thickened (abt. 35-40 min.). Fill jars with hot mixture, leaving 1/2 " headspace. Adjust lids and process.

Boiling water bath: 25 minutes for quarts.
