4 | c | Sifted flour |
6 | | Egg |
1 | c | Sour cream |
2 | tb | Sugar |
1/4 | ts | Salt |
1 | ts | Vanilla |
2 | tb | Butter |
1/2 | ts | Almond flavoring |
| | Yolks -- well beaten |
Beat egg yolks until light. Add to dry ingredients together with sour
cream, vanilla, butter and almond flavoring. Knead well. Roll to 1/8 inch
thickness. Cut into strips 1 x 3 inches with pastry wheel. Make a
lengthwise slit in center of each strip and pull one end through. Fry in
hot deep fat for approximately 2 minutes or until lightly browned. Drain on
heavy paper. When cold, sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Makes 9 dozen.
