4 | c | Flour |
4 | lg | Eggs |
2 | c | Sugar |
1 | tb | Butter |
Anise seed OR | ||
4 | Drops anise oil | |
1/2 | ts | Baking powder |
Beat eggs thoroughly; add sifted sugar and butter. Beat for 15 minutes. Add enough sifted flour to make a stiff dough. Roll out about 1/2-inch thick. Sprinkle with flour and press the patterns on the dough.
Separate the cakes with a dough cutter and place on a board covered with anise seed or use 4 drops of anise oil stirred into the dough.
Keep in a cool dry place overnight. In the morning bake, in a moderate oven, 350ø, a light brown about 12 minutes.
