4 | c | Toasted bread cubes |
1/4 | c | Hot water |
3/4 | c | Chopped green pepper |
1/2 | c | Chopped onion |
1/4 | c | Melted butter or margarine |
2 | ts | Salt |
1/4 | ts | Pepper |
2 | x | Eggs, slightly beaten |
2 | x | Flank steaks |
| | Salt and pepper |
| | Flour |
| | Fat |
1/2 | c | Water |
Combine the first eight ingredients and toss lightly with a fork. Place
steaks together and sew edges with cord, leaving an opening. Fill with
stuffing, sew edges together. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Coat with
flour. Brown on both sides in a small amount of fat. Add 1/2 cup of water,
cover and bake 2 hours or until tender. Recipe may be halved and just put
stuffing over one steak and bake, or roll and tie.
