2 | lb | Ground beef |
1 | md | Onion; grated |
20 | | Ritz crackers; crushed |
1/4 | ts | Black pepper |
1/4 | ts | Garlic salt |
1/2 | ts | Dry mustard |
2 | lg | Eggs; beaten |
1 1/2 | c | Bottled barbecue sauce |
3/4 | c | Tomato paste |
1 | ts | Liquid smoke |
1/3 | c | Catsup |
1/3 | c | Brown sugar |
1/2 | c | Water or as needed |
In a large bowl combine the ground beef, onion, crushed crackers, pepper,
garlic salt, dry mustard and eggs. Squish the mixture together by hand
until well mixed and form into walnut sized balls. Place them on a flat
wire rack in a roasting pan or a large cake pan. Bake the meatballs in a
350~ oven for 15 minutes, turn and bake for 15 minutes more. In a saucepan
combine the remaining ingredients. Cook over medium low heat for 30
minutes. Add the meatballs and simmer for several hours. This may also be
