1 | Egg | |
1/2 | c | Bread crumbs |
1/2 | c | Chopped onion |
8 | oz | Cans of Italian tomato sauce |
1/2 | ts | Oregano |
3 | c | Shredded mozzarella |
1/2 | ts | Basil |
1 | Glove garlic | |
1 | ts | Salt |
1/8 | ts | Pepper |
1 1/2 | lb | Ground beef |
Pre heat oven to 350 combine egg, bread crumb, onion, 1/3 C tomato sauce, 1 C cheese, oregano basil, garlic salt and pepper in lg bowel. Mix well and add meat. Mix thoroughtly with hands and shape into flat recangle about 10 by 12 inches on wax paper. Sprinkle remaining 2 C cheese over meat. Rollup like a jelly roll and press ends together to seal. Place on rack in shallow baking dish. Bake for 1 hr. Drain off fat. Pour on remaining tomato sauce and bake for another 15 minutes. Let stand for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
