Title: Mexican Taco Pie

Yield: 1 Batch
1 | lb | Hamburger |
1 | Taco seasoning mix, packet | |
1 | c | Salsa or picante |
1 | Egg | |
1 | Pie crust | |
1 1/2 | c | Shredded chedder or monterey |
1 | Jack cheese | |
1/2 | c | Chilies or green peppers |
1/2 | c | Tortilla chips, broken |
1 | Shredded lettuce | |
1 | Sour cream |
In skillet, brown hamburger; drain. Add taco seasoning mix and picante or salsa. Simmer 5 to 8 minutes; remove from heat. Stir in egg.
Sprinkle pie crust with 1/2 cup cheese; top with chilies or peppers. Pour ground beef mixture over chilies. Top with remaining 1 cup cheese; sprinkle tortilla chips over top. (Do not reverse the cheese and the chips. It doesn't work!)
Bake in preheated 350F oven on preheated baking sheet 20 to 25 minutes. Garnish with shredded lettuce, sour cream and additional picante to taste.
