Title: Savory Beef Short Ribs

3lbBeef short ribs
2 Med. onions, sliced
1tbPacked brown sugar
1pkFrozen lima beans
1 1/2cWater
2tbVinegar & lemon juice
2tsSalt
1/4tsGround ginger
4 Med. carrots, cut in >>>>>
  3 x 1/2" strips
2 Bay leaves

Trim excess fat from ribs. Brown in skillet and drain off excess grease. Add water, onions, vinegar, salt, pepper and bay leaf. Heat to boiling, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour. Add frozen beans, carrots, brown sugar and ginger. Heat to boiling, reduce heat and simmer until vegetables are tender, abt. 45 minutes. Remove vegetables, make gravy. Gravy: 1 1/2 c. beef broth; 3 tbs. flour; 1/3 c. water. Mix ingredients and cook until smooth and thick.
