Title: Caramelized Onion Pizza

Yield: 16 Wedges
2 | md | Onions thinly sliced |
2 | tb | Butter |
1 | pk | (10 oz) refrigerated pizza crust dough |
1 | c | (4 oz) shredded mozzarella cheese |
OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS | ||
Shredded fresh basil | ||
Crushed dried basil | ||
Chopped sun-dried tomato | ||
Minced red bell pepper |
In large skillet over medium to medium-low heat, cook onions in butter about 20 minutes until soft and lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Cool. If desired, onion can be prepared to this point and refrigerated, covered, up to 2 days. Let them come to room temperature before proceeding with recipe. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Unroll pizza dough. Cut in half. Shape each half in 8-inch circle on ungreased cookie sheet. Top each with half the move, mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Sprinkle with toppings. Bake in preheated oven about 15 minutes or until crusht begins to brown lightly and cheese is melted. Cut each pizza in 8 wedges. Serve warm.
Each wedge: 88 calories, 4 g protein, 4 g fat and 9 g carbohydrate
