Title: Chipped Beef & Cheese Strata

Yield: 4 Servings
8 | sl | White bread; remove crusts |
Butter; or marg. | ||
5 | oz | Jar of chipped or dried beef |
2 | c | Sharp cheddar cheese; grated |
4 | Eggs; beaten | |
2 1/4 | c | Milk |
Lightly butter the bread. Place 4 slices, butter side up, in a greased baking dish. Arrange half the dried beef over the bread; sprinkle 1 cup of grated cheese over beef. Add another layer of beef and cheese. Place the last 4 slices of bread, butter side up, on top. Combine eggs and milk and pour over bread; allow to stand 1 hr before baking. Bake uncovered in a 350 oven for 1 hr until puffed, brown and set.
