Title: Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars

Yield: 36 Bars
2 1/3 | c | Flour; all-purpose |
2/3 | c | Light brown sugar; packed |
3/4 | c | Margarine or butter |
1 | Egg; slightly beaten | |
1 | pk | Semisweet chocolate chips; |

1 | c | Nuts; chopped |
1 | cn | Eagle Brand sweetened |
. condensed milk; 14oz | ||
1 | pk | Toffee bits; 10oz |
Preheat oven to 350øF. In large bowl, stir together flour and sugar. Cut in the margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add egg; mix well. Stir in 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips and the cup of nuts. Reserve 1 1/2 cups crumb mixture.
Press remaining crumb mixture onto the bottom of a 13x9-inch greased baking pan. Bake 10 minutes. Pour the Eagle Brand condensed milk evenly over crust; top with 1 1/2 cups toffee bits. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture and remaining chips over the top. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with remaining toffee bits. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
Makes about 36 bars.
