1 | lb | Fryer chicken pieces |
1/4 | c | Soy sauce |
1 | ts | Ground ginger |
1/2 | ts | Salt |
1/4 | ts | Pepper |
3 | tb | Minced onion |
1 | md | Can pineapple chunks |
1/2 | c | Orange juice |
1/2 | c | Orange sections |
1/4 | c | Toasted slivered almonds |
Wash and dry chicken pieces. Arrange in crockpot. Combine soy sauce, ginger, salt, pepper, onion, orange juice and pineapple juice drained from can. Pour over chicken pieces. Cover and cook until chicken is tender, at 300 degrees F for 2 to 3 hours.
Remove chicken pieces, set aside. Mix 2 teaspoons cornstarch with 1/4 cup water and slowly add to hot liquid in vessel. Heat until thickened. Add orange sections, pineapple chunks, and chicken. Heat thoroughly. Top with toasted almond slivers.
